In colourful hues of orange and coral, this ink, gouache on washi paper artwork is a mediation of colour and form.
I make these very immediate pieces in a mindful, meditative state. I work in deep concentration, focusing on the act of mark-making and the effect that gouache, ink and water has on the delicate washi paper surface; the buckling, blurring, bleeding and deep absorption is all part of the artwork.
This A4 abstract art piece has been made with Japanese calligraphy brushes on Awagami Factory, 100gsm Shirakaba paper. While, still super delicate and light, Shirakaba paper is one the heavier types of washi paper. It is long lasting and 100% acid free.
This is hand-painted, signed, and dated and will comes with an artist note.
