My Remembered Landscape series is a new collection of colour ink works from me exploring place, trips and reflections on past experiences. This expressively painted postcard is part of a body of prep work leading up to creating large-scale colour ink pieces.
This “Waterside” ink on paper composition is inspired by where I live now, childhood holidays on my grandad’s boat on the River Medway in Maidstone and my new-found love for the Suffolk coast.
Each ink artwork involves a light, sensitive touch when building the layers of colour. I use feathers and Japanese calligraphy brushes to apply the ink. This piece is created on 350gsm, 100% Cotton Rag Hahnemuhle etching paper.
Each artwork is signed and dated.
